Through a comparative analysis of historical, mythological, and linguistic sources, the author proposes the hypothesis that the toponym *Balo (Balo / Balov)* is a mythological compound name, formed by combining the name of the god *Baʿal (Bəəl / Bəl / Bəʿel / Bel / Bal)* — who held a prominent place in the Phoenician, Canaanite, and Ugaritic mythological systems — with the component *-ov / -of* from the ancient Turkish language</strong><strong><span dir="RTL" lang="FA">. </span></strong><br><strong>In this study, in addition to examining the etymology of the village name, the historical background of this ancient settlement, the connection of its name to the mythological traditions of the ancient Near East, as well as examples and evidence found in written sources, are analyzed and evaluated through a comparative approach</strong> <span lang="FA">در این مقاله، ریشه‌شناسی و منشأ نام روستای بالو </span><span dir="LTR">Balo</span><span lang="FA"> / بالوُو </span><span dir="LTR">Balov</span><span lang="FA"> / بَلُوو </span><span dir="LTR">Bəlov</span><span lang="FA"> از توابع بخش روضه‌چای شهرستان ارومیه، بر پایه اسطوره ‌شناسی ترکان باستان، باورهای دینی اقوام خاور نزدیک باستان و تحلیل تطبیقی ریشه ‌شناختی مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. بر اساس تحلیل تطبیقی منابع تاریخی، اسطوره ‌شناختی و زبان ‌شناختی، نگارنده این فرضیه را مطرح می‌سازد که توپونیم بالو </span><span dir="LTR">Balo</span><span lang="FA"> / بالوُو </span><span dir="LTR">Balov</span><span lang="FA">، نامی اسطوره‌ای و مرکب است که از ترکیب نام خدای بَعَل </span><span dir="LTR">Bəəl</span><span lang="FA"> (بَل </span><span dir="LTR" lang="AZ-LATIN">Bəl</span><span lang="FA"> ،</span><span lang="FA"> بَععِل </span><span dir="LTR">Bə`el</span><span lang="FA">/ بِل </span><span dir="LTR">Bel</span><span lang="FA"> / بال</span><span dir="LTR"> Bal</span> <span lang="FA">) ــ که جایگاهی برجسته در نظام اساطیری فنیقی، کنعانی و اوگاریتی داشته است ــ با جزء اوُو / اوُف (</span><span dir="LTR">ov / of</span><span lang="FA">) در زبان ترکی باستان پدید آمده است. </span><span lang="FA">در این پژوهش، علاوه بر بررسی ریشه ‌شناسی نام روستا، پیشینه تاریخی این سکونتگاه کهن، ارتباط نام آن با سنت‌های اسطوره‌ای خاور نزدیک باستان و همچنین نمونه‌ها و شواهد موجود در منابع مکتوب، با رویکردی تطبیقی مورد تحلیل و ارزیابی قرار گرفته است.</span> https://www.azerturkhistory.ir/article_251322_5abae80cfe34617f00d660468b9acafb.pdf
