This article emphasizes that the preparation of a comparative dictionary of the Turkic peoples, a topic whose initial steps were regrettably neglected, is one of the most crucial issues for the Turkic world. For example, the languages of the Oghuz-speaking communities in Azerbaijan and Anatolia, which existed until the 13th century, began to gradually diverge from that time onward. After the 16th century, the languages in both brotherly homelands developed into two dialects, Eastern Oghuz and Western Oghuz, and this differentiation has continued until the 21st century. The era known as the Internet age now conveys an urgent message to the Turkic world, particularly in the field of language, urging swift and coordinated action. The example of Anatolian and Azerbaijani Turkish emphasizes the need for brotherly Turkic peoples to fully understand each other in all areas by speaking a single language of communication and to achieve unity in terminology.
