Ancient documents discovered in recent decades and examined by contemporary scholars all emphasize the settlement of Turks in Azerbaijan. The establishment of ancient civilizations such as the Hurrians, Gutians, Mannaeans, etc., are considered Proto-Turks, and the science of linguistics has established that these civilizations, along with the Sumerians and Elamites, are also considered Proto-Turks. Contrary to some false theorists, the people of Azerbaijan did not become Turkic-speaking with the arrival of the Seljuks; rather, civilizations of Turkic origin have always inhabited this land. The presence of peoples such as the Huns, Sabirs, Kipchaks, Avars, Bulgars, Khazars, Oghuz, etc., along with the governments and powers they established, laid the foundation of civilization from pre-Christian eras, and their language has remained stable and strong to this day. Through logical linguistic changes and developments in its historical process, it has transformed into the Azerbaijani Turkish language and became the standard literary language of the people of Azerbaijan in subsequent centuries, giving rise to a rich literature in this land. The historical depth and breadth of this literature originate from the long history of peoples and civilizations with the Turkish language in the land of love and fire - Azerbaijan. This article, albeit briefly, examines the presence of the peoples mentioned above and undertakes a library-based historical study of the process of formation of the Turkish language in Azerbaijan.
